Doctor Who: Dark Horizons Audible Audiobook – Unabridged J. T. Colgan (Author), Neve McIntosh (Narrator), BBC Worldwide Ltd (Publisher) 0 more out of 5 stars 71 ratings/5(71). A thrilling new adventure starring the Doctor, as played by Matt Smith in the acclaimed Doctor Who series from BBC Television. my thoughts: Fellow Whovians, if you are looking for something new and exciting to read, then check out Jenny T. Colgan's book, Dark Horizons.  · Dark Horizons is darker and slightly more mature than the usual Doctor Who series. Eleven is on a solo adventure and lands on a small island in the North Sea at a time of vikings. The world is bleak and hard, there's an alien threat in the sea and the Doctor just wants to find someone to play chess with! Colgan portrays Eleven really well/5.

Doctor Who: Dark Horizons (Paperback) Published July 4th by BBC Books. Paperback, pages. Author (s): Jenny T. Colgan. ISBN: X (ISBN ) Edition language: English. The Doctor becomes extraneous to the plodding plot that drags on and on. Probably would have made a great short story, but there isn't enough material for a whole book. I looked up the author after writing the above to find out J.T. Colgan is actually Jenny Colgan who has made her literary mark writing (wait for it) "romantic comedies". Jenny Colgan has written twenty-five novels under her own name and, as Jenny T. Colgan, has published extensively in the Doctor Who universe, including the novels In the Blood and Dark Horizons, and the Big Finish audio drama Time Reaver, starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate.

Jenny T. Colgan has written 13 bestselling novels as Jenny Colgan, which have sold over million copies worldwide. Aged 11, she won a national fan competition to meet the Doctor and was mistaken for a boy by Peter Davison. She lives in France, and her favourite episodes are 'Silence in the Library' and 'Warriors' Gate'. Jenny Colgan (born 14 September ) wrote the Eleventh Doctor novel, Dark Horizons, under the name J.T. Colgan and her short story, The Triple Knife, as well as her audio story The Boundless Sea, as Jenny T. Colgan. She otherwise wrote under her full name and was credited as Jenny Colgan for her later DWU works. Vikings and alien fire come together in this rollicking adventure featuring the eleventh doctor. Penned by prolific British author Jenny T Colgan, this one starts slow, but gains momentum about halfway through and proves itself to be a Doctor Who adventure well worth sticking with.
